Built Model Kits
1/24 Scale Model Cars
These are 1/24 scale model kits by Aoshima and Tamiya. There is a Nissan Cedric, MK3 Toyota Supra, RX7 FC, and a R32 GTS Skyline. The Cedric and Supra feature wheels I created in Fusion 360, then 3D printed on an Anycubic Photon. All of these cars were assembled by me, and painted with and airbrush using acrylic and lacquer paints. After clear coating, I waited a few days before wet sanding with a 3000 grit sanding sponge, and polishing with Tamiya Polishing Compounds and a Dremel with a polishing cotton wheel.
"Dusty" 1/35 Scale M3A1 Satan
This model was built in December of 2017 for Paul Allen's Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum. I had the pleasure of getting my picture with the lead tank mechanic, Dusty Smiley. Dusty's grandfather was a Marine that fought in Saipan in WWII. This M3A1 Satan named "Dusty" was an actual tank that served along side Dusty's grandfather during the war. The model itself features many scratch-built parts, including some boxes and the turret assembly and hatches. I only had an M3 Stuart model by Tamiya, so I meticulously converted it to the M3A1 Satan tank. All of the lettering was painted by hand. The base and scenery were both built entirely from scratch.
1/32 Revell MKII A Spitfire
I built and painted this kit in March of 2017. I simply bought it because it was cheap, and the detail looked decent. The kit was a rather easy build. However, there was some sanding and filling required. I used an airbrush to paint the camouflage patterns, and the RAF roundels. The letters were masked off and painted by hand. All of the post-shading and weathering was done by hand using oils. The pilot was also painted by hand. The chipping was added with silver acrylic and a fine brush.
1/72 Scale Revell/Fine Molds Millennium Falcon
This scale model was built in March of 2017, and it was filmed in Hamilton Hall backed by a green screen for a visual effects test. Construction went well, and the light gray was sprayed with a can. The dark gray, red, and orange accents were brush painted with acrylic. The whole model was weathered by hand with oils and chalk pastels. The cockpit details were also painted by hand.
